LAMS Conference update

It's about six weeks to go until the LAMS Conference, and we already have over 70 registered attendees from around the world. The venue can hold up to 120, so if you're planning to attend but haven't yet booked, we'd suggest doing this sooner rather than later, just in case there is a rush towards the end. Registration details are available at:

http://lamsfoundation.org/lams2006/registration.htm

We've also just added details to the conference website for exhibitors and sponsors, so if you work for an organisation who would like to be part of the LAMS Conference, see:

Ernie at Argentina Free Software Conference in November

Ernie Ghiglione, who manages the technical development of LAMS, will be in Argentina (his country of birth) in November and December, and it looks like he'll be presenting on LAMS at a major Free Software Conference in Argentina - more details soon. For information about the conference, see:

Updated Windows Installer for LAMS V2 RC1

There is an updated Windows installer for LAMS V2 RC1 - this allows a sysadmin to set up a test server of LAMS prior to finalisation of the system in the coming week. For details and downloads, see:

New LAMS and RAMS conference presentations

I didn't get out a newsletter last week as I was flying home from the US, where I gave several new presentations on LAMS and RAMS. You'll find them in the Articles and Presentations section of the R&D Forum - see:

http://www.lamscommunity.org/dotlrn/clubs/educationalcommunity/lamsresearchdevelopment/forums/forum-view?forum_id=10480

The PSU presentation is a typical overview of current work on LAMS; the EDUCAUSE presentation is a substantially new presentation on different types of integration between e-learning systems (and is relevant to recent discussion of a "LMOS"); the third is a presentation on RAMS given at Cambridge University the week before (while this presentation starts out with the same background as previous RAMS presentations, the latter part includes more detailed analysis and diagrams related to peer assessment processes in eResearch, such as RQF/RAE).
