Live LAMS Presentation with Audio by James Dalziel

I've finally got around to something I've been meaning to do for years - record a live LAMS demonstration, including audio, and make it available on the web. The presentation is in three parts:

* Part 1: LAMS Overview (5 minutes - 5 MBs)
* Part 2: LAMS Learner and Monitor (9 minutes - 14 MBs)
* Part 3: LAMS Authoring and LAMS Community (14 minutes - 21 MBs)

Part 1 presents some Powerpoint slides on the background to LAMS, while Parts 2 and 3 capture live LAMS software demonstrations - all with voice over. The presentations are Flash files, so you need to view them online. You'll find the links to these presentations, as well as many other animated tutorials about how to use LAMS at http://www.lamsinternational.com/documents/1.0/winks/

I've always found showing LAMS more helpful than describing it with words. So if you ever wanted a LAMS presentation to show a colleague or at a seminar/workshop, but didn't have someone able to do this live, then you could always try this as a substitute!

News from Frances Bell - LAMS discussion at CABWEB

"Robyn Phillips from LAMS will be facilitating a discussion on LAMS from 29 May-9 June at CABWEB.

Content will include

1. What LAMS? Why do we need it?
2. How are people using it in higher education?
3. What are the results?
4. What are potential areas for research?

You can check out much of CABWEB as a guest but to stay in touch with the discussion by email or make a post, you should self-register on CABWEB at http://www.cabweb.net/ (see instructions for First Time Users if it’s not obvious). NOTE! This discussion is likely to be very popular so I suggest you set the daily digest option in your user profile.

Follow the link to the HELP network from CABWEB front page and look out for NEW! forum in topic 1. Remember to subscribe to this forum by clicking subscribe option if you want to get email reminders of postings. The forum is open on 29 May but in the mean time, you can contribute to the social forum and read the Powerpoint slide show that Robyn has provided." Frances Bell
