European LAMS Conference in 3 weeks

Only 3 weeks to go now to the 2009 European LAMS & Learning Design Conference at the Open University in the UK. The main conference is on July 7th, with a Summit on Pedagogic Planners on the 6th, and a CETIS Design Bash on the 8th. Sheila MacNeill from CETIS has aptly described all this as a "Learning Design Festival".

The agenda for the Summit on Pedagogic Planners is now available at
http://lams2009.lamsfoundation.org/summit.htm
...and details of the Design Bash on the 8th are at
http://lams2009.lamsfoundation.org/designbash.htm

**One important change: The Advanced Training workshop on the 9th will now be held at London Knowledge Labs (LKL) in London, not the OU in Milton Keynes. LKL location details at http://tinyurl.com/ywmsvc **

If you haven't yet registered for the conference, please visit

or email us direct - lamsconfadmin@lamsfoundation.org
NB: Any problems with the registration process, please just email us direct.

Extra IMS Award for LAMS: Best Learning System

In my last newsletter I was pleased to say that LAMS won a Gold Award at the 2009 IMS Learning Impact Awards. It turns out LAMS also won a "best in category" award for "Best Learning System" - see

Even Faster LAMS coming

While LAMS V2.3 has made amazing improvements in both speed and scalability, the LAMS team has found another way to make more big improvements using JBoss V5.1 - this will be available in the LAMS V2.4 release towards the end of this year, but for technical details, see
