Background:

Lutheran Education Queensland has been working with LAMS in 12 trial schools since the middle of 2006. During this time over 1000 students are using LAMS, across several Primary and Secondary schools, involving well over 100 educators. LEQ Funds a LAMS Implementation Officer one day per week in term time to provide Professional Development and Account services. LEQ makes use of the hosting service provided by LAMS International in Sydney.

This Implementation Matrix was developed by Peter Kellett, the LEQ LAMS Officer and Head of IT at Grace Lutheran College in Brisbane. The structure of the table assists less confident teachers in scaffolding their LAMS implementation, making the initial process seem less daunting and improving teacher take-up.

The matrix breaks LAMS Sequence types into three levels, starting at an introductory Teacher to Student level (Level 1) and progressing to encompass the full collaborative potential that LAMS has to offer (Level 3).

Feel free to use this document to within your organizations Professional Development program and LAMS documentation. Feedback on it’s effectiveness would be most welcome.

Many thanks Peter - the Qld Lutheran trial has been excellent, and your matrix is a great way for new users to think through a staged introduction of LAMS for both teachers and students.

I've attached a copy of the Word format version of this table for those who want it - the table format makes it easier to read.
