New Version this coming week

A new version of LAMS (V1.0.2) will become available around the middle of this coming week - keep an eye out for the announcement at http://www.lamsfoundation.org/ This version includes the new "HTML Noticeboard" tool which allows you to include rich web content (like images, animations, audio and video) directly into a Noticeboard page via HTML. The new version also includes hundreds of improvements and bug fixes.

LAMS V1.0.2 will come with a new installer, as well as an upgrader for those using LAMS V1.0.1. The new version also includes the "hooks" for integrating LAMS with systems like Moodle, Sakai and Blackboard - the integration code will be available from http://www.lamsfoundation.org/integrations/

New Discussion: LAMS and textbooks

We're starting a new discussion in the R&D community about the future of textbooks, and how LAMS and textbooks could be combined. We welcome your ideas, comments and questions at http://www.lamscommunity.org/dotlrn/clubs/educationalcommunity/lamsresearchdevelopment/forums/message-view?message_id=76321

Featured Sequences

The most popular sequence to date has been Robyn Philip's sequence on Creative Writing - it's a great activity for secondary school students in its own right, but it also provides an ideal starting template for other types of Creative Writing sequences - either on other topics, or for other levels of education (eg, Primary or Tertiary). See http://www.lamscommunity.org/lamscentral/sequence?seq%5fid=34547

Karen May and Debbie Evans from Glenorie Public continue to add new examples of how to use LAMS with Primary aged students. Karen has just added four more sequences, and there are now 13 in total in the K-12 community - you can find a summary of all of them at http://www.lamscommunity.org/dotlrn/clubs/educationalcommunity/k12schools//lams-seq/

Technical Help

With the upcoming new version of LAMS, don't be shy about asking technical questions (especially any problems with getting LAMS working) in the Technical Community.
