Educational Developer opportunity for LAMS project in Medicine

We're still looking for an Educational Developer for a new 18 month project in the use of LAMS in medical education. Experience in educational development in medical/health sciences areas as well as knowledge of, or experience with LAMS are needed for this position. Please email me if this is of interest (james@melcoe.mq.edu.au).

Deep Tools Integration with LAMS and Moodle & .LRN

After almost three years of laying the groundwork, Ernie and the LAMS development team have cracked one of the most exciting (and challenging) types of integration for LAMS - the use of external LMS tools inside LAMS sequences. So far, we've illustrated this using a Forum tool from both the Moodle and .LRN Learning Management systems - see the animations in the link below. I found it really exciting to watch a Moodle Forum dragged-and-dropped into a LAMS sequence (including integration with LAMS Grouping and Branching), and then run with students so that the Moodle Forum appeared together with the other LAMS Learner activities. You can also export the authored sequence and run it on a separate LAMS server (provided it has the same deep tools integration in place). Similar integration for Sakai is planned in the near future. For all details, see:

Google Gadgets in any LAMS activity

You can now add Google Gadgets to any LAMS activity - so with over 45,000 Gadgets from Google and growing, there are lots of exciting new functions you can embed in LAMS tools. For an animation about how Google Gadgets work, and how to embed them in LAMS tools, see

Biggest LAMS sequence ever?

Erik Engh from Norway has shared with the LAMS Community the biggest LAMS sequence I've ever seen - it has over 35 activities and the file is 39MB, including videos, images and even blueprints for welding. So if you're interested so see what LAMS is capable of, you may interested in this sequence... see
