Microsoft SharePoint now integrated with LAMS

The LAMS technical team have recently completed integration of LAMS with Microsoft SharePoint - this is particularly relevant to K-12 schools who use SharePoint as a general learning portal/gateway, and want to add LAMS into their portal. For details of the integration, see

Thanks to Microsoft for assistance with this development.

Why does Australia produce such good educational software? An article

Simon Shurville, originally from the UK, but recently arrived in Australia, has written an article with Barry O'Grady and Peter Mayall of Curtin Business School for Campus Wide Information Systems called 'Educational and Institutional Flexibility of Australian Educational Software'. It is an attempt to answer the question of why Australia seems to produce such good educational software, based on an analysis of LAMS, Moodle and Harvest Road Hive. This is a question I get asked all the time as I travel, so it's great to have a new perspective on this. For details and a link to a copy of the article, see

LAMS Presentations from US trip

While I was in the US in March, I gave a number of LAMS presentations including at the SITE Teacher Education Conference, the CoSN (Consortium of School Networking) conference, as well as at the Carnegie Foundation and MIT. For copies of these presentations, see:

LAMS V2.1 update - Not long now

LAMS V2.1 is out as a "release candidate" - this is the final test version prior to full release. The main thing holding it up now is my final testing of it, which I've been slow to get to due to the arrival of a new baby boy in recent months (mum and baby are well!) - but we expect to finalise and release V2.1 in the near future.
