Did you trial the LAMS Activity Planner? - Message From Leanne Cameron

I am doing research on the use of the Activity Planner, so I am interested in hearing from anyone who went in and had a look at it. If you are happy to answer a few questions (via email) and perhaps make some comments about the usefulness of planning tools in general, please contact me at leanne.cameron@mq.edu.au

If you haven't already seen the Activity Planner and would like to, please contact me and I can give you access.

[Note from James: Part of Leanne's PhD and an ALTC project is on the Activity Planner, so if anyone can help her with her research by providing their thoughts on the Planner, it would be much appreciated!]

LAMS Research Book & Cyprus LAMS Conference

Just before the European LAMS Conference, Leanne and I will be visiting Chris Alexander and colleagues at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus for a conference on LAMS. At this conference, the first book about LAMS research will be launched by the University of Nicosia Press, based on articles from past LAMS conferences and the TEwT journal. My thanks to Chris and colleagues for their hard work in organising these two great milestones.

SIF Instructional Services - LAMS Example

SIF is a technical standard used for connecting educational systems, especially in the school sector. We've recently been implementing SIF "Agents" for LAMS to allow LAMS to plug in to a Portal/LMS that uses SIF, as well for LAMS to report scores and activity completion to a SIF-enabled gradebook.

While SIF has traditionally been used mostly for "backend technical" requirements, there is some new work in the SIF community on "Instructional Services". We've recently created a simple example ("Use Case") to illustrate some of the ways LAMS could assist with SIF Instructional Services - for those interest in this SIF work, we've provided some details and a short sample sequence at
