Submissions due July 1st for LAMS and Learning Design stream of ICEM Conference

For those who'd like to present as part of the LAMS and Learning Design stream of the ICEM 2013 conference, please note that the submission date for presentation proposals and/or papers is July 1st. For submission details, please see
http://lams2013.lamsfoundation.org/

This stream of ICEM functions as the 8th International LAMS and Learning Design conference, and will be our major conference for 2013 (instead of a conference in Sydney in December as in the past). ICEM 2013 should be a major Learning Design event, with Diana Laurillard, Grainne Conole, John Hedberg and many others presenting at the conference. For details of the ICEM conference in Singapore, October 1-4th, see
http://icem2013.ntu.edu.sg/

By the way, LAMS will be a major sponsor of the ASCILITE conference at Macquarie University in December 2013, so you can visit us there if you like Sydney in the summer!

LAMS and Moodle 2.5

LAMS is integrated with Moodle and the systems are widely used together. The current LAMS integration works with Moodle 2.4 and earlier Moodle versions. For general details on this integration, see
http://wiki.lamsfoundation.org/display/lamsdocs/Moodle2

Ernie has tested the current LAMS integration with the new Moodle 2.5 release, and it works for the major features, but a few minor issues will need tweaking in the near future. Ernie is keen to talk to anyone who is interested in running LAMS with Moodle 2.5 - please see this post for more details

Back page description

This edited edition on Learning Design published by University of Nicosia Press has two overarching aims: firstly, it draws attention to the growing international importance of the multifaceted and innovative research area known as Learning Design; secondly, it emphasises the forefront role LAMS has played in helping educators put Learning Design principles into practice in a conceptually-grounded way. There are however two central challenges for educators in this revolutionary IT age: (1) assessing the implications for learning in light of such an astounding rate of technological advancement; (2) finding ways to disseminate new discipline knowledge learned to a wider audience. Thus this volume also attempts to collate research experiences and thoughts in a way that may help to improve our understanding of some of the major issues in learning design research.
